July 11, 2021 ~ We have only been
out to the movie theater once since the pandemic. However, I do love
how we are able to watch new releases in the comfort of our own home!
We even have the electric recliners and the popcorn machine to give us
that "real" movie theater feel. We just watched Dr. Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness and we loved it. Think Evil Dead meets the MU. "Gimme some sugar, babeeee!"
June 7, 2020 ~ With COVID-19 still going strong, we haven't been to a "real" movie in ages. We were able to watch the reboot of The Invisible Man through Amazon. It was...okay. I don't think I've ever watched anything about the Invisible Man, and I have no idea what the premise is. So, watching this version was...okay. There were some good scares and the CGI was pretty good. Plus it does bring up the notion of "How would it be if you could be invisible?" Makes you wonder. Hmmmm?
May 24, 2018 ~ We saw Avengers: Infinity War a few weeks ago, and I really liked it a lot! Without giving away any spoilers, it really took my by surprise. Sadly, we lost a friend after we saw the movie, and also loved it as well. Hope you can still watch kick-ass movies where you're at Andy!
May 13, 2016 ~ Of course, Dale and I went to see the new Marvel Comic movie, Captain America: Civil War.
Dale's work schedule is great, because he works four, ten-hour days.
Therefore, he gets Fridays off! Yeah! Three-day weekends to play
around with his currently unemployed wife! That's really the only
reason why we were able to see the movie on opening day since there
aren't a lot of people in a theater early morning on a Friday.
This
movie lived up to the quality of all the other Marvel movies. Although,
I thought it was a bit slow at the beginning, it did speed up to some
ass-kicking levels! I don’t want to give too much away, but there was
some great action, super bad-ass girl fighting (the Black Widow amazes
me yet again), campy humor, and of course…loads of eye candy.
Hubba-hubba-hubba.
I highly recommend this one, and you must stay until the end of the credits. I think we’ll see this one again!
September 12, 2015 ~ Dale and I had
spent a whole month moving from a house we've rented for three and a
half years to another house a street over. Ugh. This seemed to go on
forever, and we were diligent and kept on track and didn't go out to
dinner or movies. Our first movie back into a normal social life was
Ant-man. That was my choice and I was glad that it was still playing in
the theater. It was really fun and I liked it a lot. We will definitely have to get this one on Blu-ray when it comes out. I'm
looking forward to how they are going to pull Ant-man into the Avengers.
Plus, Paul Rudd....very easy on the eyes regardless of what size he
is. Big or small or even teeny tiny...sigh.
May 24, 2015 ~ I'm a firm believer
of that old adage, "If it isn't broken...don't fix it." That's how I
feel about the remake of Poltergeist. I love the original 1982 movie
and it was mainly curiosity what sparked me to see this. Dori and I saw
this during her visit. The clown was pretty damned creepy, but I dozed
off for pretty much the rest of the film. Yawn.
